Nurse Practitioner – Cardiology (Inpatient Focus)
Location: Sierra Vista, AZ

A physician led cardiology practice is seeking a skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role is primarily inpatient based with strong physician support and exposure to ICU-level patients. The ideal candidate is patient focused, efficient, and committed to high-quality cardiovascular care.

 
Position Responsibilities:
Inpatient Care
  *Perform daily inpatient rounding on ICU and floor cardiology patients
  *Conduct follow-up assessments and collaborate closely with the attending cardiologist
  *Review diagnostics, manage medication adjustments, and facilitate timely interventions
  *Support safe and efficient transitions of care from hospital to outpatient settings
Follow-Up & Coordination
  *Complete patient phone follow-ups related to recent hospitalizations, procedures, or abnormal test results
  *Assist with timely evaluation of abnormal findings and ensure appropriate follow-up care
ASC Responsibilities
  *Complete chart verification for ASC cases, ensuring labs, imaging, clearances, and documentation are accurate and complete
  *Identify and address missing information or clinical concerns prior to procedures
  *Provide day of procedure support, including focused assessments and patient education
  *Assist with post procedure checks, follow-up calls, and coordination of nextstep testing or visits
  *Contribute to efficient ASC workflow and documentation accuracy
Outpatient Duties
  *Minimal outpatient clinic responsibilities
  *Primarily limited to hospital follow-up needs and abnormal findings that require timely evaluation
 
Call & Schedule

  * 4-day work Schedule
  *Hospital call: Managed primarily by the cardiologist
  *Weekend call: One weekend per month, rotated among three NPs

Requirements

Qualifications
  *Current, unrestricted NP license in Arizona
  *National certification (AANP or ANCC)
  *BLS and ACLS required
  *Prior cardiology, ICU, or inpatient experience strongly preferred
  *Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
