Innovative Primary Care specializes in family practice, telemedicine, hormone replacement therapy (pellets and other routes), weight-loss management, and a range of complementary services for patients aged 15 and older. No pediatrics. We have been in private practice since 2017 and serve the communities in Bandera, Rockport, and San Antonio, Texas. Clinic site in Harlingen, Texas, coming soon. Our Bandera and Rockport clinics are designated as loan repayment facilities under The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program through HRSA.
We currently have a need at our Bandera, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas, clinics, and we also have positions at our growing Rockport, Texas, clinic.
Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner position for a privately owned organization. The owner is an active provider at clinics and will provide onboarding training tailored to individual needs. Salary position. We provide all patients, support staff, equipment, supplies, advertising, billing, AI documentation, and administrative support. We can assist with establishing a collaborating physician for supervision. DEA certificate required. No call is required.

Hours:
(8 am-5 pm) Monday-Friday; closed on all major holidays.
Essential Duties:
- Provides patient care by interviewing, examining, and providing medical services and treatment to clinic patients within the scope of practice of Nurse Practitioners under the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
- Prescribes medications in collaboration with the medical director responsible for the practice.
- Plans appropriate care using community resources and acts as a liaison, relaying information necessary for continuity of care to other health professionals and agencies.
- Educates individuals, and/or families, or groups about health or defined health problems.
- Ensures timely and appropriate records, reports, claims, and correspondence necessary and appropriate in connection with all examinations, procedures, and other professional services rendered in the clinic are kept and maintained.
- Complies with all policies on recordkeeping for patient service charges and billing.
- Coordinates with the clinic team to assist in maintaining a smooth-running clinic and efficient patient flow
- Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Assumes responsibilities for ongoing continuing education based on the individual's identified needs.
- Provides medical services at the Clinics under agreed-upon schedules.
- Coordinates with the owner regarding leave time to maintain appropriate coverage for services in the Clinic at all times.
- Participates in quality improvement and management, educational programs, or other patient care management programs established by or in conjunction with Clinic services.
- Provides feedback to the owner on the health care team's performance of duties.
- Initiates contact with specialists for referrals to agencies and community resources as needed.
- Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of advanced practice of a nurse practitioner.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school; graduate of an Advanced Practice Nursing program; minimum 6 months experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Board certification as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner is required. Will consider adult nurse practitioners as well
Language Ability:
Ability to read and analyze legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Fluent in English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates and Licenses:
Licensed as an RN/APRN in the State of Texas. Prescriptive authority according to the Texas Nursing Practice Act. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
Computer Skills:
Athena EHR experience preferred. Telemedicine experience preferred. Demonstrate working knowledge of the Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic health records applications.
Other:
Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle; maintain a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to a medical office environment and has direct contact with patients and clients. The position necessitates bending, stooping, twisting, turning, walking, climbing step stools, sitting, and standing for periods. Must be able to lift and maneuver 25 pounds.
